ABOUT OMERO
Omero Ambriz was raised in a hardworking family where every opportunity had to be earned. He watched his mother work multiple jobs at once, including as a dishwasher, to help provide for the family. Her example showed him the value of hard work, sacrifice, and perseverance.
Omero enlisted in the United States Marine Corps after high school. His military service strengthened his discipline, accountability, and belief in putting service before self. After completing his enlistment, he became a first-generation college graduate. Those experiences guided him toward a career in public service, and continue to shape his dedication to working families across New Hampshire.
During his federal career in national security, Omero advised U.S. government agencies, including the Intelligence Community, on protecting the nation’s most sensitive information. He conducted security assessments, developed programs to detect and deter insider threats, and investigated security violations while working with partners across the federal government, including the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the FBI. Earlier in his career, he worked with state and local officials, community leaders, and faith-based organizations through the U.S. Census Bureau and later helped shape rural development policy at the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Through his academic and professional career, his research took him across the Middle East and Southeast Asia, where he studied the roots of political violence and extremism firsthand. That work informs his teaching today as a professor of homeland security, political violence, and terrorism at the University of New Hampshire. His teaching reflects his personal values that good judgment, ethical awareness, and critical thinking matter as much as technical knowledge. This applies equally to the State House as much as in the field. His upbringing gave him a personal understanding of the financial strain families face, and his experience in the military, federal government, and higher education has given him a real-world understanding of the challenges facing people and communities across New Hampshire.
As a proud Granite Stater, Omero is running for the New Hampshire House of Representatives because he believes government should be transparent, accountable, fiscally responsible, and focused on practical results that make life better for working families. He wants New Hampshire to remain a place where people can live, work, raise a family, and build a business.
These values shape the priorities Omero will bring to the State House
