A COMMITTED CONSERVATIVE WHO WILL DELIVER FOR OUR COMMUNITY
MEET PHIL HOUDE
Philip Houde is a lifelong resident of Somersworth who believes that New Hampshire works best when government is accountable, communities are strong, and hard work is rewarded. Born at Frisbie Memorial Hospital and raised in Somersworth, Philip has spent his life building a career, raising a family, and giving back to the community he proudly calls home.
A graduate of Saint Martin's Elementary School and Somersworth High School (Class of 1980), Philip continued his education at the Stratham Vocational Technical College, earning an Associate Degree in Machine Tool Processes and Applied Science in 1984.
For more than 42 years, Philip worked as a machinist in New Hampshire's Seacoast manufacturing industry. Throughout his career, he worked for respected companies including United Technologies, General Electric, Cambridge Tool, Collins & Aikman, Thompson/Center Arms, and Energy Resources Group. His decades of experience in manufacturing have given him firsthand knowledge of the challenges facing New Hampshire's workers, small businesses, and economy.
Philip and his wife, Donna, have been married since 1999. Together they have built a strong family, including two daughters, Crystal and Danielle, and are proud grandparents to four grandchildren. Family has always been at the center of Philip's life and continues to inspire his commitment to creating opportunities for future generations.
A man of faith and service, Philip is an active member of Saint Martin Parish in Somersworth and belongs to the Sons of the American Legion Post 69, where he supports veterans, their families, and community initiatives.
As a candidate for the New Hampshire House of Representatives, Philip is committed to bringing common-sense leadership to Concord. He believes in protecting taxpayers, supporting local businesses and manufacturers, defending constitutional rights, and ensuring that government remains transparent, efficient, and accountable to the people it serves.
Philip isn't a career politician—he's a machinist, husband, grandfather, and lifelong New Hampshire resident who understands the values of hard work, personal responsibility, and community. He is running to be a strong voice for the people of his district and to help preserve the New Hampshire way of life for generations to come.
On the Issues
A Lifelong Commitment to Our Community
I was born in Somersworth, raised here, educated here, married here, worship here, and continue to call this community home. As your State Representative, every vote I cast and every decision I make will be guided by one simple question:
"Is this good for the people and families of Somersworth and Rollinsford?"
I believe our district deserves practical leadership that puts residents first, protects taxpayers, and preserves the values that make New Hampshire a great place to live.
Keeping New Hampshire Affordable
The rising cost of living is affecting families, seniors, and young people trying to build a future in our community.
As your representative, I will work to:
Keep taxes stable and oppose unnecessary tax increases.
Fight against excessive government spending.
Protect taxpayers by demanding responsible budgeting.
Support policies that help working families keep more of what they earn.
Every budget decision should be based on what the people can reasonably afford—not on how much government wants to spend.
Fiscal Responsibility
Government has a responsibility to live within its means, just like New Hampshire families do.
I believe:
Tax increases should always be the last resort.
Wasteful spending must be eliminated.
Government should focus on essential services.
Every tax dollar should be spent wisely and transparently.
Fiscal discipline today helps protect future generations from unnecessary financial burdens.
Growing Good Jobs
Having spent more than four decades working as a machinist in New Hampshire's manufacturing industry, I understand the importance of strong local employers.
I support:
Bringing quality manufacturing and skilled jobs to our region.
Encouraging businesses to invest and grow in New Hampshire.
Supporting workforce development and technical education.
Reducing unnecessary regulations that make it harder for employers to create jobs.
Good-paying jobs strengthen families and build stronger communities.
Supporting Families
Every family should have the opportunity to build a life here.
I want New Hampshire to remain a place where people can:
Afford to buy a home.
Raise their children in safe neighborhoods.
Receive an excellent public education.
Stay in the communities they love throughout retirement.
Strong families are the foundation of a strong state.
Caring for Our Seniors
Our seniors helped build the communities we enjoy today and deserve to age with dignity.
I support:
Expanding practical solutions for elder care.
Helping seniors remain in their homes whenever possible.
Protecting programs that improve quality of life while remaining fiscally responsible.
Supporting caregivers and local resources that assist older residents.
Protecting Our Communities
I believe New Hampshire succeeds because of its hardworking, law-abiding citizens and strong sense of community.
I will support policies that help preserve safe neighborhoods where families can live, work, worship, and grow together with confidence.
My Promise to You
I am not running to build a political career. I am running because I care deeply about the community that has been my home my entire life.
As your State Representative, I will always be:
Accessible and accountable to my constituents.
Honest and transparent in my decisions.
Focused on practical, common-sense solutions.
A strong advocate for Somersworth and Rollinsford.
Together, we can protect the New Hampshire values that make our communities such a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family.
